Bill gates gave an inspiring talk at this year’s (2009) TED conference in Palm Springs.

As a native New Yorker I was unaware of the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) until I read ‘Outliers‘ by Malcolm Gladwell. The final chapter of ‘Outliers’ outlined a day in the life of a young student from a KIPP school. I was impressed and reminded of how important my middle school years were to my collegiate success.
