Inspiration at its finest. This young man embodies the ethos of this blog. (Jay-Z voice from Hot 97 Funk Flex freestyles) ‘And he’s only 14!’ I love the new crop of young entrepreneurs and investors that I have been meeting and learning about. The Future is Bright.

“By age 14, Damon Williams has built a portfolio worth $50,000, knows blue chips like most kids know potato chips and saves more than he spends. Is this Chicago teen an investing freak of nature? Quite likely. Even so, most of us could learn a thing or two from him. Damon was just 5 years old when he bought his first share of Nike stock, and his story is a perfect illustration of one of the lesser-known applications of the phrase “time is money.” In this case, the longer you’re able to keep your money in the market, the more likely you are to make big bucks investing in stocks. Reading this reminds me of “Reallionaire”, the story of Dr. Farrah Gray and how he became a millionaire at 15. If this same knowledge were added to the school curriculum prior to kids turning 18, the U.S. may not be in dire financial straits. I support young Damon 200%!
