This wall reminds me of something that came up during a brainstorm session at one of my past agencies. The Hello Wall is an interactive experience that allows the consumer (person) to control their experience. This could be modified in so many different ways, i.e., puzzles, games, mazes, etc. Cheers to my friends in the UK for this effort. More on the above video, below.
The installation went live this Monday, March 8th. It uses Twitter to let the public interact with the huge wall projection on Wembley High Road.
Until Sunday March 14th, you can get interact with this live artwork by Tweeting commands to @thehellowall. You can use shapes (triangles, squares, circles), commands (more, less, shake) or just say hello@thehellowall.
The project is part of a 50-meter high outdoor video installation on Wembley High Road. In the past 5 weeks the installation has showcased international and home-grown artists including Rafael Rozendaal, David Szakaly, Robert Hodgin and currently, Hellicar & Lewis.
Wally Vega is an enigmatic character out of Ohio. He represents an irreverent style of Hip-Hop that has FINALLY been embraced by the mainstream. However, he goes DUMB on this track. As I look out of my Brooklyn apartment’s window, the sun is shining. Indeed this son of Ohio is shining, too. With an upcoming EP pending release, the streets and internets now know, “Vega’s in the house!”
This is the most interesting site design I’ve ever seen. It is all about exploration and discovery. When I stumbled upon it, it was rather plain which immediately peaked my curiosity. As I investigated around the screen, I slowly found links to other parts of the site, seen only when my mouse moved over them. Possibly, Kanye is attempting to make a metaphor about who he is as a person. Maybe.
The fusion concept that has become prevalent with Nike’s Jordan Brand has spread to Converse. It’s all in the family; however, Converse is the pretty sister while Jordan Brand is the obnoxious brother. I choose the sister! I love the Jack Purcell’s that I have spotted in the Dress Code 1/2 line up. I can’t wait to receive my three pair. More on Jack Purcell later this week. Promise.
VitaminWater has just announced that its newest flavor will be called “Connect”, complete with a Facebook logo and a full paragraph description loaded with references to untagging, friend requests, and photo stalking. It’s black cherry-lime flavored, with caffeine and “eight key nutrients”. And it’s coming to stores nationwide in March. The new flavor and label were a result of a contest VitaminWater has been conducting on its Facebook page over the last few months that invited fans to design their own flavors (check out the video below featuring Steve Nash for an intro).
VitaminWater and Glaceau got it right with this product extension. A drink made for social (media) people, FTW! As a connector I’ll be sure to pick up a case for my long days and nights that I spend on my Macbook Pro; blogging, tweeting, and of course facebooking.

The song is great. The video is cool. Very noir. If you like avant-garde movements from France then you will probably appreciate this work. Does my ‘Allegory and Jay-Z’ post make sense now? I.e., the changing principle = on to the next one
In my usual fashion I am going for a wrist partner that only a few people own. This time she hails from Japan. I can’t think of a more suitable partner for me in 2010. Check her out:
I know she looks a little crazy in the face, but I think I LOVE HER. If you decide to try to steal her be prepared to get railroaded.
I have been trying to solve the mystery of the BNE stickers in NYC for the past few months. There is not a place in my city that anyone with taste or creativity can go without spotting the infamous stickers. For those not familiar, here are a couple of pics:
Wikipedia refers to the stickers as, “The graffiti artist or group of artists commonly known as BNE, who post(s) black and white stickers in cities around the world bearing only the eponymous acronym”. This definition was not enough to stop my journey, especially since one of my own personal favorite social experiments involved black and white stickers. Then I received an email from an advertising colleague and BOOM…
Thus it looks like on 12.10.09 all my questions will be answered. If you will be in the NYC area around the 10th you should RSVP here. Mother (a creative agency) and Animalnewyork (a daily cultural digest) will be presenting the artist (s) controversial work. Stay tuned for photos and video from the event.
The JC/DC (Pop Hours) Lego watch is one of those accessories that you immediately want to tell others about. However, for the sake of this blog post I kept my mouth shut. The aesthetic of the JC/DC comes from the classic Casio watch shape which borrows the iconic Lego primary colors and connectable circular shapes. Each watch will also be packaged within a box resembling the build of a Rubix Cube. Hopefully I’ll soon be showing you a picture of the aforementioned. Don’t forget to credit odm as well as Jean-Charles de Castelbajac for the collaboration.
With all that said, does anyone know where Dee & Ricky is in all of this? #justsayin
