1man·i·fes·to
: a public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions, especially of a political nature.
The term came to use in the early 1600s. The famous Italian futurist, F.T. Marinetti in 1909 authored the Futurist Manifesto which contended that Italy must become modernized and rejuvenated in order to be prepared for the future. The Futurist Manifesto is credited for predicting the Russian Revolution, Fascism and inspiring a new form of art called ‘Futurism’. The Future is Bright Manifesto follows in a similar pattern; inspiring a generation of innovators, connectors, mavens, tastemakers, thinkers/doers, big idea generators, and leaders.
The Future is Bright Manifesto is embodied by the song, “The Youth” by acclaimed group MGMT. Below are the lyrics.
The Youth – MGMT – Oracular Spectacular
This is a call of arms to live and love and sleep together
We could flood the streets with love or light or heat whatever
Lock the parents out, cut a rug, twist and shout
Wave your hands
Make it rain
For stars will rise againThe youth is starting to change
Are you starting to change?
Are you?
TogetherIn a couple of years
Tides have turned from booze to tears
And in spite of the weather
We could learn to make it togetherThe youth is starting to change
Are you starting to change?
Are you?
TogetherThe youth
