Bloggers are influential people. It’s actually a good mix, but that doesn’t matter. Why wouldn’t WY and MT host listening parties? Pay US what you owe.

Cheers!

1 freEP and 1 mixtape you need to listen to, TODAY

Oh, what’s the difference between a freEP and a mixtape, you ask? Well, they have a different flow and feel. A freEp I’ll play during times of reflection while mixtapes I’ll play when I want to get live. In addition, as you know, I don’t post many full-length projects on this site. However I had the great pleasure to check out two musical projects that I found to be solid. One of the artists got some post love from me earlier in the week.

Check both of them out.

The Dead 27 mixtape

March 28th, 2009 § 3 comments § permalink

Ominous post title, huh? Well let me share some context with ‘ya. My friends at SH Collective teamed up with DDub to present a mixtape influenced by artists that all passed at the age of 27–weird but true. Here are some words from the press release:

The Dead 27 showcases and displays D-Dub’s ability as a producer and embodies a broad range of musical styles including hard core rap, R&B, pop, and rock. D-Dub states,

’Dead 27 ’is influenced by four musical icons Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and Jim Morrison. Who not only made a mark with their music but also impacted our culture with their sudden passing.

The mixtape also blends these four with four other Hip Hop heavyweights of my generation and their rhymes. Consequently, bridging the gap and recreating space and time, both past and present with my beats.
