The National Museum of Hip-Hop? Oh shit, shit just got real(er). I’m with it.
Info and Credits
Thank you for viewing “The Conductor”, a National Museum of Hip-Hop (NMoH) Short Film. The Conductor is the first in a series of short films that will be released during the “Donate-A-Dollah” (DAD) Campaign.
DAD is designed to increase project awareness, unify the Culture by developing the first international “Hip- Hop Census”, and raise funds to build the first NMoH facility within New York City and implement NMoH community-service initiatives.
The Campaign asks all Hip-Hop fans worldwide to proudly proclaim their allegiance to the Culture by donating just ONE dollar to this movement. Donate-A-Dollah today at www.nmoh.org and become an official Hip-Hop Citizen! The precise location/borough of the Museum will be determined by the results of the DAD Campaign; the NYC borough with the largest population of Hip-Hop Citizens (votes) will be where the Museum if built. The first Museum for Hip-Hop will be built for the people and literally by the people!

This performance is a snapshot of a moment in J. Cole‘s career where he nearing the tipping point. His peers know it. His elders know it. We know it. I’m glad we will all soon get to see him actualize his potential.

The bruv NSR may be one of the most charismatic, talented artists I’ve encountered in a few years. This track is a funny interpretation of Llyod Banks – Beamer, Benz or Bentley. Check back here for more from NSR. You may even catch me make a guest appearance in a video.

Walking on Eggshells: Borrowing Culture in the Remix Age from Brendan Schlagel on Vimeo.
I said via Twitter that I was only going to drop a post once a day at 10 AM for the week, but damn! This documentary is a must watch. Please take time out of your regular scheduled programming and check this out.
“Walking on Eggshells” is a 24-minute documentary about appropriation, creative influence, re-use and intellectual property in the remix age. It is a conversation among various musicians, visual artists, writers and lawyers, all sharing their views on why and how we use and create culture, and how intellectual property law, originally designed to provide people with incentives to create, sometimes hinders creative production far more than it enhances it.
This film is our final project for the seminar “Intellectual Property in the Digital Age” at Yale University.
